Josh Bock, M.S. (he/him)

Life sometimes places us in situations that we feel we may not be able to handle alone. As your therapist it would be my honor join you in navigating the challenges you face. My approach integrates principles of Client Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.  I also conceptualize people through a holistic lens, not only focusing on the mind and mental health but on the body and it’s connection to our overall functioning. My areas of clinical interest and training include anxiety and related disorders, trauma, executive skills, and gender and sexual identity.

Regardless of your presenting concern, I approach therapy as a collaboration that allows us each to share our expertise; mine in psychological theory and intervention and your expertise on yourself and your unique needs. This philosophy shapes our therapy space as we determine what type of environment works best for you, whether that be more structured or free-flowing.  Sessions may range from activities that target specific behaviors to more existential or processed focused discussions to help us better understand your experience.

I always welcome your feedback on our therapy process and on the progress of our therapeutic relationship.  After all, therapy is not simply the shared space in which our discussions take place, rather it is a decision to embark on a journey of healing, growth and self-discovery… together. It is my firmest belief that everyone is capable of change. My role is to help you explore what that looks like for you and to make sure you have everything you need in order to reach your destination. Together we can help you to live a happier and more fulfilled life.

Please also note that I am registered psychology associate working under Dr. Malouf’s supervision and am currently enrolled in a doctoral program at Loyola University.  Specifically for individuals seeking a gender affirming evaluation, this means that any letters I write count towards doctoral level license requirements.  Click here to learn more.
